Foundation Brings on Two New Board Members

The Coquitlam Foundation is pleased to announce two new additions to the Board of Directors: Hazel Joomratty and Iris Sun.

Hazel Joomratty moved to the City of Coquitlam in 2015, and her and her family have loved living here. With her kids growing up, Hazel has developed an increased awareness of and desire to give back to the community. Her last board contribution was five years ago in Vancouver, so joining the Coquitlam Foundation is an excellent opportunity for her to resume contributing her time and experience to supporting the community and building a legacy for future generations. Currently, she works as the Senior Controller/Director for a tech Public company that is listed on the TSX.

Iris Sun participated in 2016’s Coquitlam Crunch Diversity Challenge and has had her eye on joining the Foundation ever since. Having worked in the non-profit sector since 2009, Iris has extensive experience as an independent project researcher focusing on cultural diversity and immigrant integration. This includes conducting over 100 cultural diversity and multiculturalism projects. Furthermore, Iris has been a member of the Coquitlam Multiculturalism Advisory Committe (MAC) since 2014, and was a member of the Coquitlam 125th Anniversary Steering Task Force (CAST Force) between 2016 and 2017.

We would like to wish Hazel and Iris a warm welcome!
