Julie Fisher is the new vice-chair of the Coquitlam Foundation and Janet Toddington is its new secretary. The announcement was made at the Foundation’s Annual General Meeting, September 9.
Fisher, who had been the organization’s secretary, replaces long-time board member Gerri Wallis, who retired earlier this year. Colleen Talbot remains as chair and Bob Tanaka continues as treasurer.
Tanaka reported that, as a result of the board’s sound investment policies, net assets for the fiscal year ended June 30 totaled $1.7 million, compared to $1.55 million the previous year. He also told that AGM that the Foundation distributed $54,000 in grants, bursaries and scholarships last year.Meantime, tickets are still available for the Coquitlam Foundation’s 2010 Fall Gala, “Laugh Out Loud,” October 22 at Red Robinson Theatre.
The action then shifts inside the theatre, where merrymakers will enjoy premium seats for the 8 p.m. show of comedian Steven Wright. The evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers, refreshments, silent auction and more. Revelers are encouraged to wear their “loudest” shirts to get into the spirit of the evening.

The Gala is being presented in conjunction with Red Robinson Theatre.
