COQUITLAM – The Coquitlam Foundation is pleased to announce that Sid Sharma, an entrepreneur and accountant, has joined its board of directors.
After immigrating with his family to Canada in 2008, Mr. Sharma became director of finance and corporate service with the College of Registered Nurses of B.C., and then founded his own business-consulting firm. He later launched Europa Language School and is also a part-owner of a preschool and daycare in Coquitlam. As well, Mr. Sharma is director of finance for Centric Health – surgical division, overseeing ambulatory surgical centres in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto. He moved to Coquitlam, with his wife and two daughters, in 2012.
“We are extremely pleased that Sid has agreed to join our board,” Roch Ripley, foundation chair, said, pointing out that the board is now up to its full complement of 12 directors. “We look forward to working with him to advance our new strategic plan.”
The Coquitlam Foundation manages $3.2 million in 30 foundation-directed and donor-advised funds. The foundation always welcomes donations to any of these funds, which can be made through its website by clicking on the “Donate Now” button.
As well, the foundation invites interested individuals or organizations to consider establishing a donor-advised fund. Individuals and families are also encouraged to think of the foundation when planning legacy and estate donations.
