COQUITLAM – Call it a celebration of charity, call it a party for philanthropy, or simply call it a good excuse to have a great time. By whatever description, the Coquitlam Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Gala on the evening of November 15 at the Red Robinson Show Theatre will certainly be a celebration.
The gala will feature entertainment by singer Karen Lee Batten, a three-time winner of the B.C. Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year award and a Canadian Idol Top-10 finalist. The Bhangra Idols dance troupe will perform, as well.
Also on tap will be a sumptuous plated dinner, special recognition of the Coquitlam residents whose visionary leadership led to the establishment of the foundation, and silent and live auctions. Highlights of available items include a $1,000 gift certificate for Coquitlam Centre, a play-and-stay package at Wesbild’s Predator Ridge in Vernon, and two nights at the Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler.
The foundation has distributed more than $700,000 in grants, scholarships and bursaries during its two-decade existence and now manages $2.2 million in its funds.
Tickets for the gala are just $90 (plus tax and service charge) and are available through the foundation’s website, www.coquitlamfoundation.com. The gala’s reception begins and 6 p.m.; dinner is served at 7:15 p.m.
The Coquitlam Foundation is always pleased to accept donations, c/o P.O. Box 2, 1207 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, B.C., Canada, V3B 7Y3, or through its website, www.coquitlamfoundation.com. The Coquitlam Foundation is registered with Canada Revenue as a charitable organization, No. 890762347 RR0001.
