COQUITLAM – Following a record-setting 2014 in which it distributed $127,000 throughout the community, the Coquitlam Foundation is now accepting applications for a new round of grants, bursaries and scholarships. Deadline for applications is 4 p.m., February 16.
From bursaries for high school students entering college to grants for organizations assisting needy individuals, the Coquitlam Foundation provides a wide range of support to further its mission to build a vibrant, sustainable and healthy community.
“With the continuing growth of the more than two dozen funds we manage, we are looking forward to sustaining or even growing our contributions to the well-being of Coquitlam,” says foundation chair Janet Toddington. The Coquitlam Foundation now manages almost $2.8 million in a variety of foundation-directed and donor-advised funds.
Grants committee chair Ron Grender is expecting to receive a record number of applications this year as word of the availability of the funds continues to spread. “It means more work for the committee,” Grender says, “but the busier we are, the better. We’re really looking forward to the coming few months.”
Prospective applicants are invited to visit www.coquitlamfoundation.com for more information on how to apply. Interested parties can also call 604.468.9598 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Grants, bursaries and scholarships will be distributed at the foundation’s annual Awards Night, June 17 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
