Founded in 2014, the fund’s purpose is to use the capital and income from the fund for improving the quality of life in Tri-Cities communities by helping: veterans who have served for Canada in the armed forces; children to enjoy sport; women and children in poverty; those persons living in poverty or on the street; and children with life threatening medical conditions.

Founded in 2014, the Fund’s purpose is to use the capital and income from the Fund for improving the quality of life in Tri-Cities communities by helping: veterans who have served for Canada in the armed forces; children to enjoy sport; women and children in poverty; those persons living in poverty or on the street; and children with life threatening medical conditions. Financial assistance will be provided to support pet-friendly needs where applicable.

Grants are to be made with preference to providing assistance primarily to residents living in and around the Tri-Cities communities being the City of Coquitlam, City of Port Coquitlam, City of Port Moody and the surrounding villages, for the following charitable purposes in priority:

(a) providing financial assistance for and in support of veterans who served for Canadian the armed forces, and those veteran programs or services including equipment and housing needs, to honour their contributions to Canada, and to improve their quality of life, with preference to war veterans in priority to civic veterans;

(b) providing financial assistance for and in support of children sports and kid sport programs or services to enable children to gain confidence in themselves, adopt a healthy lifestyle, learn leadership skills and the importance of team building, and to eliminate financial barriers to their participation in such activities by providing for equipment, payment of fees, or other financial support or services;

(c) providing financial assistance for and in support of women and children in need and requiring shelter, clothing and food or other such support services including a women’s shelter, and to foster recovery, independence, growth, education, and skills to become self-supporting;

(d) providing financial assistance for and in support of those in need or homeless or programs and services for those in need or homeless, including the provision of food, shelter, clothing and other support items or services, and to foster recovery, independence, growth, education, and skills to become self-supporting;

(e) providing financial assistance for and in support of children with life threatening medical conditions including the grant of wishes to such children.
