COQUITLAM – The Coquitlam Foundation is now accepting expressions of interest from Coquitlam residents interested in filling board and committee positions. Board meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month.
The foundation fulfills its mandate to be the charitable heart of Coquitlam by:
- Exercising philanthropic leadership in identifying and addressing community needs
- Attracting and managing charitable gifts
- Investing these pooled funds prudently for the benefit of the community
The foundation is specifically seeking the skills of a practicing lawyer who resides in Coquitlam as well as candidates with experience with non-profit boards and links to the business community.
“Our directors are members of a working board,” says chair Janet Toddington. “Members are directly involved with operational tasks.”
If interested in applying, please send letters of interest and a resume to Toddington at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 11.
Meantime, the public is invited to attend the foundation’s annual Awards Night, June 9 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre, 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam. The foundation manages $2.8 million in 28 foundation-directed and donor-advised funds. The foundation always welcomes donations to its funds.
The Coquitlam Foundation is registered with Canada Revenue as a charitable organization, No. 890762347 RR0001.
