COQUITLAM – It’s been quite a year for the Coquitlam Foundation. Within the past 12 months, the community philanthropic organization celebrated its 20th anniversary at a spectacular gala, distributed $114,000 at its Awards Night, launched five new donor-advised funds, and saw its total endowment rise to $2.4 million.
All this and more will be reviewed at the Coquitlam Foundation’s Annual General Meeting, to be held this Thursday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Coquitlam Foundation Room of the City Centre Branch of the Coquitlam Public Library, 1169 Pinetree Way.
The foundation will also be discussing ways in which it can continue to advance its charitable work in the community. In addition to managing its own foundation-directed funds, the organization manages 21 donor-advised funds on behalf of various groups, families and individuals.
The five new donor-advised funds created over the past year include the Michael Coss Brain Injury Fund, the Steps Together Fund, the Trevor Wingrove Bursary Fund, the Wesbild LIFT Fund and, most recently, the Danielle & Gary Couling Education Fund.
