Coquitlam, June 13, 2024:
The Coquitlam Foundation recently hosted a memorable and inspiring annual Awards Night on June 5th at the Evergreen Cultural Centre. The event brought together fundholders, volunteers community leaders, and guests to celebrate individuals and organizations who have been selected by the volunteer Grants Committee to receive $210,495 in grants and scholarships in recognition of their dedication to the community’s betterment and student success. Special thanks to the Evergreen Cultural Centre, Quantus Homes, Thrifty Foods, and Sandpiper Signs & Decals Inc. who sponsored the annual event, and attendees were treated to a special performance by The Heritage Woods Jazz Combo, led by Ms. Kathy Fester.
“We are thrilled to recognize and support these remarkable individuals and organizations who are making a real difference in our community, “said Executive Director, Carol Brodie. “Through the generosity of our donors and fundholders, we can provide vital funding to empower these changemakers and fuel positive change”.
Despite market volatility and employing conservative investment management, the Coquitlam Foundation has managed a portfolio of over $8 million. In the past year, they were able to distribute grants and scholarships bringing the total amount given back by “the Heart of the Community” to over $3 million since 1992.
The Coquitlam Foundation is proud to continue its tradition of supporting local talent, fostering innovations, and investing in the next generation of leaders. The awards night underscored the organization’s commitment to working together, improving the quality of life, and investing in initiatives that address local needs and opportunities, so we can create positive change and build a stronger, more vibrant community for all.
