COQUITLAM – The Coquitlam Foundation is reminding qualified individuals and organizations that the February 23 deadline to apply for grants, bursaries and scholarships is fast approaching.
The Foundation, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year as the charitable “Heart of Coquitlam,” is planning to distribute upwards of $50,000 within the community this spring. Detailed information and application forms are available at www.coquitlamfoundation.com.
In addition to numerous bursaries and scholarships for students, eligible community groups can apply for project grants totalling up to: $3,500 for initiatives involving the arts; $2,000 for health and wellness; $2,000 for heritage and conservation; and $1,000 for education.
“In past years, many applicants have waited until the last minute to file their forms, and some have even missed the deadline,” notes Coquitlam Foundation chair Colleen Talbot. “This year, we want to remind everyone to get their forms in early to ensure that we are able to assist as many organizations and individuals as possible.”
The awards will be distributed at the Coquitlam Foundation’s Awards Night, May 29 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
